VIRTUAL RACE
LOCKDOWN 1.0
During these tough times due to the Coronavirus we are going to try and offer some weekly #RunExe virtual races/challenges, to try and keep our running community together, motivated and as positive as possible 👊
PLEASE NOTE: This will be the last week and final week of our Virtual Race challenges. Now we have guidance from England Athletics on a return to competition, we are now focusing all our efforts on putting on some ‘real life’ races in the not too distant future!
Last Challenge:
4KM and/or 0.4KM > Time to complete: Wednesday 29th July - until - Tuesday 4th August.
Previous Challenges:
*Please follow current government guidelines with regards exercise.
Your virtual race time should be recorded in one go - it’s fine to have a break or stop but please keep the clock running, like it would in a real life race :-)
IMPORTANT NOTE: During these very challenging times when running please do respect yourself and your community and follow government advice with regards exercise - remember overtraining and/or rapid increases in training volume can burden the immune system. If you feel that taking a break from running would benefit you or those you love, please do.
This is a new idea for us that we are kinda working at, on the fly… so please do bear with us if there are some teething problems! We also recognise that there is a fair bit of trust with this concept but we believe you runners are a decent bunch and the good will out weigh the bad massively!
How To Log Your Virtual Run - 2 Parts:
Fill in the form below
After you have sent us the form, email - mail@city-runs.co.uk - a picture of your GPS device that has recorded the distance of your run and finish time, alternatively you can send a link to your strava account or garmin etc…
Results & Prizes:
Ultimately this is just for fun and we are doing this to try and keep our running community together, motivated and positive as much as possible. Once the window for the particular challenge has finished then we produce a “proper” set of results with positions, clubs, age cat, age grade % etc… We’ll also try and award some performance and spot prizes for people who have undertaken the challenge.
