DEVON 10,000 & WESTCOUNTRY MILE
Wednesday 18th June 2025
WEDNESDAY 18TH JUNE 2025 DATE
Entries will open in spring.
The Devon County AA 10,000m Championships & Mile Races are back for 2025. The 10,000m features two graded races under UKA rules, open to both Devon championships runner and open entries, with a 55-minute cut-off and a 20-runner limit per race. The Westcountry Mile provides graded races for the blue ribbon event. For those new to track racing, the Try The Track Mile welcomes both club and unattached runners to experience the track and racing a mile.
10,000 meters. 25 laps. 1 decision. Most people won’t even try. Too far, too hard, too much. But are you built differently? Don’t back down when it gets tough—you lean in. The first few laps feel easy. Then the burn sets in. Then the doubt. But somewhere between the pain and the track, you find something real—something unstoppable. This isn’t just a race. It’s a battle between your head and heart. Step onto the track. Embrace the suffering. And when the final lap comes, finish strong. 25 laps won’t break you. They’ll make you.
1 mile. 4 laps. 100% heart. It’s not about speed. It’s not about winning. It’s about stepping onto that track and proving to yourself that you can. The first lap feels easy. The second starts to burn. The third asks if you’ve got anything left. And the fourth? That’s where you answer. That’s where you find out what you’re made of. Try The Track.

MIKE FEIGHAN MEMORIAL TROPHY
We are very pleased to announce that a Mike Feighan memorial trophy will be awarded to the fastest man and lady at this years Devon County Track 10,000m.
This is very fitting as Mike was a great supporter of Devon County AA…he was the Devon cross country manager for several years… I know some years he was on a minibus at 4am to get to the inter-counties in Nottingham, to then travel back the same day and run the Grizzly the following day!! I also remember him pacing the 10,000m A race one year and then doing the B race straight after as the original pacer had dropped out. Such was his desire to help out other fellow runners.
Simply a great runner and a great bloke ❤️ We are proud to honour him in this way.
